A standard full-time CELTA course runs 4–5 intensive weeks (or longer part-time) and combines: input sessions (workshops on teaching methodology), a minimum of 6 hours of assessed teaching practice (teaching real language learners in small groups, observed and given feedback), and 4 written assignments covering language analysis, lesson planning, learners’ needs, and reflective practice. Candidates also observe experienced teachers and their peers throughout. Every teaching practice session is followed by structured feedback — expect to be evaluated almost daily.
