CELTA’s daily feedback culture is intense by design — it’s meant to accelerate improvement over four weeks, not to be a performance review. Nerves are universal among candidates; the skill that actually gets assessed is how you respond to feedback, not whether you make mistakes. Come to each feedback session with a specific self-assessment question ready (“Did my instructions work? Did I give students enough talk time?”) rather than waiting passively to be told what went wrong — this demonstrates the reflective practice CELTA is explicitly trying to develop.
