CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is an internationally recognized entry-level qualification for teaching English, developed and awarded by Cambridge Assessment English. Cambridge issues it only, delivered exclusively through accredited centers—no third party, including this course, can award it. What CELTA does qualify you for: entry-level positions at language schools worldwide, and a foundational, practical teaching methodology. What it does not do: guarantee a teaching job, cover subject areas beyond general English (e.g., exam prep or young learners require further specialization), or replace a full teaching degree in most state-school systems. Understanding this distinction precisely is itself something assessors expect candidates to already know.
